Almost twenty years after the 1992 Rio Earth Summit, Major Groups (farmers, women, NGOs, Indigenous Peoples, scientists, youth, workers, business and local authorities) will continue to be quite active in working with government colleagues and to articulate their views and recommendations for the way forward. See the Information Note as well as the official plan of work for the two week period, under the “information for participants” section. To help plan your schedule or follow reports from afar, the full range of side events, partnership fair and learning center sessions offered by participating Major Groups, governments and UN agencies may be found under the relevant category at

Stay tuned for a variety of related not-to-be missed events outside of the UN being planned at gardens, farmers’ markets, warehouse operations and schools by the NYC CSD Host Committee.
